What is dandruff?

Dandruff (a form of seborrheic dermatitis) is the visible flaking of scalp skin when cell turnover speeds up. It’s often associated with Malassezia yeast, excess oils and a sensitive scalp barrier, showing up as flakes/white scales and itchy, irritated skin.

What does Medicasp contain?

POWERED BY COAL TAR 0.5%. An OTC medicated ingredient used for over 200 years, coal tar helps normalize fast scalp cell turnover and calm irritation—helping control dandruff symptoms like flaking, scaling, itching, irritation and redness. Use as directed.

Can I use another shampoo at the same time?

Yes—alternate as needed, but keep Medicasp in your routine 2–3× per week to help keep symptoms in check. Don’t combine with prescription scalp treatments or UV therapy unless your doctor advises it.

Can I use conditioner along with Medicasp?

Yes. You can continue your regular conditioner. For best results, apply Medicasp to the scalp and, if you wish, keep conditioner mainly on lengths/ends so it doesn’t dilute the medicated lather.

Can I use Medicasp while pregnant?

Ask a doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
